🐔🧬Learning comes to life in Mr. Brandon Walker's 8th Grade Science class at Simpson Central!

Students explored the genetics of chickens as part of their lesson on artificial selection and natural selection–using Punnett squares to study how certain traits are passed down and how humans have selectively bred chickens over time. 🐓📚

Trunk or Treat will be on Friday, October 31 during school hours. If you would like to donate candy, it would be greatly appreciated. 100% of the donations will be used for the event.

🇺🇸Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage of the first responders and heroes who sacrificed so much that day.

👏 We're proud to celebrate Mrs. Taylor White Brown, an Extraordinary Educator at Simpson Central! Last school year, she was selected by Curriculum Associates for her outstanding work in the classroom.

As part of this honor, Mrs. Brown is sharing her passion and expertise on a national stage–through a featured blog post on Curriculum Associates' website (Middle School Student Engagement Strategies for Today's Classrooms) and an episode of their Extraordinary Educators Podcast.

In both, she offers practical, creative, and inspiring ideas that teachers can use to engage middle school students in learning.
